THE DJEMBABES, Austin's FAVORITE All-Women's West African- Style DRUMSONG ENSEMBLE, are taking a performance break until September to rest and re-charge and focus on some new exciting material! Thank-you so much for your enthusiastic support of our group throughout this last year! Your love and support is what keeps us going and we are grateful for each of your beautiful smiling, dancing faces in our audiences! We believe this music is MAGIC! And we believe it is HEALING ! And we believe it can UPLIFT SPIRITS and UNIFY HEARTS! And we KNOW that our communities must dance and sing and make music together if we are to have PEACE ON EARTH and connect to our COMMON GROUND! We love this music and we play and sing and dance from a place deep in our hearts & souls, and we send it out to you with LOVE! We so look forward to our next performance and the opportunity, once again, to share what we love! We will have some exciting new rhythms and songs to move and groove with so wear your dancin' shoes!

Children, parents,Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Aunts, uncles, and all the cousins and friends are invited to this celebration of our vibrant community here in Austin, deep in the heart of Texas! Come dance and sing along or just relax under the stars and let the drums and the rhythms do their magic and soothe your soul!

The Djembabes play at the Marafiki Against Malaria Fundraiser - Thur, March 12th at RUTA MAYA at 9:15pm! Please come enjoy the tantalizing rhythms and songs of the Djembabes while supporting this incredibly invaluable group working diligently to prevent premature deaths and illness in Africa due to Malaria. 3601 South Congress.

The Djembabes, Austin's favorite all women's percussion and vocal ensemble specializing in the beautiful songs and rhythms of West Africa and south Africa, will be playing at JOVITA's on March 20th at 8pm during SXSW at a show sponsored by AUSTIN MUSIC MAGAZINE. Join us for this fabulous show and let your body, mind, and soul move and groove to the beautiful mesmerizing harmonies and the vibrant, power-packed drumming of the Djembabes! (followed at 9pm by Rattletree MArimba!) Don't miss this exciting night off world beat ( and other) music at Jovita's!

The Djembabes will be LIVE at Central Market on March 28th , a Saturday, from 6:30pm -7:30pm on the decks and again from 8pm-9pm. This is one of our very favorite Austin venues! Bring the kids and the whole family and all of your friends and enjoy the music of the Djembabes under the stars on the CM decks! Come celebrate the joy and beauty of Springtime in Austin!

The Djembabes will be playing again at Central Market ( west 38th and Lamar Blvd. on Saturday evening, October 25th from 8-9pm! We are sharing the stage with Rattletreee Marimba and Joel Laviolette! HILDEGIRL/DJEMBABE BENEFIT CONCERT! The DJEMBABES will be back together with the Hildegirls for another exciting and uplifting joint concert( EARTHSONG-WOMANSONG!) on APRIL 14th at 8pm at Unity Church of the Hills, 9905 Anderson Mill Road! This wll be a benefit for our favorite local environmental group, SOS ( Save our Springs). Please come if you can and help support this organization that works so hard to save the soul of our city, Barton Springs. Come listen to and interact with the beautiful voices of Susan Lincoln's Hildegirls as they share beautiful, healing melodies/songs/prayers of Hildegard of Bingen and many others and then shake,rattle and roll yourself from your root through your crown chakras and everything in between with Sherry Gingras and the Djembabes and the finale with the 60 member Hildegirl vocal chorus and Djembabes combined!
