YAO ANGELO will be in Austin Sunday , March 30th, for a weekend of drum and dance workshops! Angelo is an amazing, charming, gifted teacher and performer from the Ivory Coast now residing in Eureka Springs, Arkansas! Imagine! And we are blessed to have him with us in Austin this weekedn! Please come to a Drum workshop for all levels at noon on Sunday at DRUMZ for an exciting and
fun filled hour and a half of Ivory Coast drumming! These rhythms are among the most beautiful and joyful rhythms I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Come join us! $20 for the workshop. Everyone must have their own drum to participate.
Angelo will also be teaching an African dance workshop at Tapestry atg 1pm on Saturday, March 29th! His dance classes are amazing! Don't miss this chance to learn from a master dancer and talented teacher from the Ivory Coast!

DRUMZ IS OPEN DOWN THE WINDING PATH IN THE COTTAGE AGAIN!
Remember that DRUMZ is now open noon to 6pm Tuesday through Saturday in the newly remodeled cottage in the back! We have a beginner adult hand drumming class that meets from 10am-11am on Saturday mornings now so we are no longer opening at 10am on Saturdays. We have a very beautiful selection of djembes in stock at the present time, including several sizes of the spectacular Master Drum series from Guinea and Mali, a great selection of Kangaba djembes of varied sizes from Mali, and Ivory Coast djembes ( beautiful ones for $299!), as well as our usual array of doumbeks, log drums, djundun sets, bodrhans and frame drums, bongos, talking drums, bougarabous and even African snare drums ( the breketes from Ghana)! We also have a wide range of hand held percussion instruments including tambourines, claves, shekeres, frogs and grasshoppers from Thailand, kalimbas ( thumb pianos) , didgeridoos and lots, lots more! We just received a shipment of Tibetan singing bowls that are exquisite and our gongs are available in several sizes and styles! Come by a enjoy a hands on experience any time! The Spring weather will be here soon and the pathway and gardens in the back will be green and lush and full again, so come enjoy a little taste of paradise and percussion! COMMUNITY DRUM CIRCLE- The Austin First Friday Community Drum Circle meets this coming Friday evening, April 7th, from 7:30-9PM at PEACE PARK on North Lamar near 14th Street . Please bring your friends and family and join us for a celebratory evening of rhythm and music created with the community to foster peace, harmony, health, joy and vitality for ourselves, each other, our community, and our planet. No previous experience is necessary to participate! Extra rhythm instruments and a few drums are always available to share. All ages are invited! Group drumming inspires us to let go of the barriers we create between ourselves and others and join in as ONE DRUM to create the community voice, while at the same time maintaining the integrity and beauty of our own individual, powerful voices! Everyone's voice is honored and welcomed in this circle! Bring your open heart, your dancin' hands and feet, and join us! FREE!

YAMOUSSA'S WEST AFRICAN DRUM WORKSHOP AND PERFORMANCE will take place this Saturday, March 25th.
Beginners through advanced will have classes on Saturday from 3:30-5:30pm at NiaSpace on South Congress.. There will be a performance in the evening!
All levels are welcome! Come dressed comfortably, barefoot, and ready to MOVE TO THE GROOVE of live drumming. Call NiaSpace for more details!

DRUMZ will be re-locating to it's new home at 3700 Kerbey Lane ( the BIG house in front of the little cottage that has been the home of DRUMZ for these first three year!)It is going to be a wonderful renewed space and I am very excited about this transition! Movin' on up!
