JUNE 20th at Central Market on Lamar at West 38th Street! The Djembabes will be playing at Central Market again at 6:30pm on June 20th! We will play until 7:30pm our first set and then again from 8pm-9pm! Central Market is one of our very favorite venues as it has the feel of a real "village" setting. We love the sounds of children playing and laughing in the distance, all ages enjoying their conversations and sharing meals on the outdoor decks, and everyone and everything vibrating and connecting to the beat of the African Drums! Lots of dancing and singing along at these events! Come and enjoy a warm, relaxing, fun summer night under the stars with the Djembabes! All ages , sizes, colors, and persuasions are warmly invited! C all Sherry at DRUMZ at 453-9090 for more information if you need it! Visit the Central Market calendar online for a listing of all the musicians and groups scheduled for summer concerts. ALL FOR
FREE!

The Sankofa Center does extensive work with AIDS Education and Awareness Programs in Ghana, West Africa and with any luck, we will be live streaming with them in Ghana during this event! How amazing is that?! We hope you will be able to join us for this celebration of life in benefit and in gratitude for the Motherland that has gifted us with this magical and extraordinary African music. Though we in the Djembabes group have not not been born in Africa, we feel that deep in our hearts Africa has been born in us through this music. It is with deep respect and honor that we play and share this music that we have come to love so much. Axe! Axe!
