DRUMZ HAND DRUMMING CLASS SCHEDULE FOR DECEMBER!
There will be a shorter Three Week Class Session in December due to the Holidays!

Please join us for the final session of 2008 beginning December 3rd at DRUMZ
COST:$50 for three weeks.


BEGINNER CLASS- Wednesday evening from 8-9pm the Discovering the Magic of Hand Drumming class begins at DRUMZ. This class will cover the fundamentals of hand drumming, some rhythm rudiments, hand technique and exercises to develop technique, a traditionalWest African rhythm and song, drum circle ettiquette,and an opportunity to explore musical improvisation at the closing of each class with a closing rhythm. No previous musical experience is necessary. If you have a heartbeat, you have rhythm! We are all rhythmic creatures born into a rhythmic universe and we have an innate need to explore and share this connection to rhythm! Come learn a new language with which to express yourself and share your gifts, develop your listening skills , wake up your creative spirit, relax, re-charge and release your blocks and inhibitions! You will learn to connect ( to yourselves, to others, to your world) in a deeper more open way while learning to drum in a circle with a supportive, experienced, passionate drum teacher and a bunch of new friends!


BEYOND BEGINNER class meets Wednesday evenings from 6:45pm-7:45pm beginning Dec. 3rd. This clas is for those students who have completed at least one beginner session or have had comparable experience in another situation. Class moves mopre quickly, and studies more complex rhythms and exercises and begins work on improvisation and soloing techniques.


THURSDAY MORNING WOMEN'S CLASS, "REMEMBERING RHYTHM"- Meets from 10:30-11:30am every Thursday mornings! ALl level class but we do not cover basics so you must have had drumming instruction and understand the djembe technique and learning African rhythm patterns! We have lots of fun in here!


THURSDAY EVENING INTERMEDIATE CLASS, "Serious Drummin'" takes place on Thursday evenings from 7:30pm-8:30pm. If you have not already taken this class please call Sherry to get instructor's approval to join this class. Experienced drummers are welcome.

SATURDAY MORNING CLASSES WILL NOT MEET DURING DECEMBER AS THE STORE WILL BE OPEN ON SATURDAYS FROM 10am-6pm for the holidays!
